Heineken, the popular Dutch beer maker, announced Monday January 11th that they will be buying Femsa for a whopping $7.6 billion (well some sources say $5.5 billion, but who’s counting!)

Read The Story on CNN

Femsa is the company behind Dos Equis, Sol, Tecate, is the largest bottling company in Mexico, originally called the Cuauhtémoc Moctezuma Brewery that was started in 1890. They are the second largest bottler of Coca Cola in the world.

I was just reading bout Charlene de Carvalho Heineken, she is the 11th richest woman in the world ( I needed some inspiration;) Heineken owns 170 brands all over the world. This company is an inspiration to me. A lot of them start extremely small, and just flourish beyond belief.

Let’s see how this goes with Femsa and Heineken.

—-

We currently have beer soap made with Heieneken, Tecate, Sol, and 2 different Dos Equis made in our shop. Did you know Heineken also brews Amstel (which we also have!) Check them out in our beer section.

Ciao for now!
