I stopped using Internet Explorer 6 years ago. I have been using Firefox or Flock since. But these programs crash a lot for me, and I find them a bit slow. The fastest browser to date for me is Opera. It never crashes, and its speed is amazing. Second to Opera would be Safari, which I also enjoy using.

I know many of you enjoy using Etsy Hacks, and until today I thought Etsy Hacks only worked in Mozilla browsers such as Firefox or Flock.

Well, you can use them in Opera too. And you don’t even need to download Greasemonkey. Here’s how:

1. Go to the Documents folder on your computer and create a folder named Etsy Hacks.

2. Open Opera and go to the following website. You will see a white page with script on it. Save this file into that same folder you created in step 1:

http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/operaStuff/userjs/aagmfunctions.js

Go to save at the top of your opera browser and just save the file, do not rename it.

3. Press Ctrl and F12 while in your Opera browser. This will open up your Opera Preferences box. Go to Advanced, then Content, make sure that Enable Javascript is checked, and then click on Javascript Options. You will see a box where you can browse for the folder you created in step 1. Navigate your way to that box and find your Etsy Hacks folder. Click and then press OK, then OK again. The Preferences box should now be closed.

3. Go to etsyhacks.com in your Opera browser and go to the download page of any of the scripts that you want to download. It will open a white page with a bunch of script on it. Do not change anything in the script, just save the page in the same folder as you did in step 2.

4. Repeat this for any Etsy Hack that you want to use. Once complete, restart Opera and log into your Etsy page. You should now see Etsy Hacks working just like they did in Firefox or Flock.

Hope that helps!

I decided this morning to do away with the Flat Rate Shipping section on Etsy. I think it may have been confusing potential buyers, especially when they see listings for one bar of soap that costs $6.50 to ship. A lot of buyers did not realize that was a flat fee for multiple purchases or if you needed your bar in a hurry.

So I am going back to the old fashioned way. I will combine any order of 3 bars or more to save you shipping fees, the best shipping option will be applied.

We will not be debuting any new brews for a few weeks while we catch up on some soapmaking on our ZAJA Natural line. The quick success of our beer soap line has left our regular soap line in a state of neglect for several months. Right now I am awaiting my new molds, which I hope will be arriving shortly. Then you can expect to see a lot of new ZAJA soaps and a lot more sales going on.

Still trying to figure out how to add coupons effectively so that I can offer them to you in my newsletter. I want to create a smooth buying experience.

What’s in store in the next few weeks? Sugar scrubs, bath gelato, bath bombs, and quite a few new surprises! Stay tuned!

12/27/09:

A word on new shipping rates- This year we will only be using USPS for first class shipping of one or two bars, per your request. If you would like to have your order ship USPS, you can purchase 1-2 bars here:

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=37353042

Any order more than 2 bars will have shipping calculated to our new flat rate FEDEX rate of $7.95. Canadian and overseas orders of 3 bars or more will be shipping with USPS flat rate international rates, but will be covered with full insurance to protect your package. This also gives us a sense of security in knowing that your package arrived safely. Shipping to Canada will be $13.50, and shipping to any other part of the world will be $15.50.

You may ask why I am making these changes? Well, this past holiday season taught me that USPS is not the company we can rely on to deliver packages on time when they need to be. When a 2-3 day mail package takes 17 days to get from Miami Florida to Tampa Florida, you know there is a problem. My feedback and my company’s integrity has had to suffer because of late shipping. How can one explain to a customer that although their tracking number is not showing any updates, yes, they package has indeed been shipped out? How can a package be left to sit in a sorting facility for 8 full days before it is processed? I don’t know what happened. The list goes on, and this has made this past holiday season extremely difficult.

There were so many emails, so many accusations, and it really felt as if all the hard work we put in this holiday and all year to get to where we are went down the drain once a package left our hands.

FEDEX will be our #1 route for delivering packages from now on. The $7.95 rate covers as many bars as you would like to order, and will arrive via FEDEX Ground or Home Delivery. Fedex 2nd day air and Express Saver is also available at additional costs if you need a package super fast.

Shipping time frames is something we are working on to shorten, which is why your packages will now be shipping within 1 business day of your order.

Thank you so much for reading this, and understanding why our shipping rates have changes. Customer service is very important, and this is a way for us to strengthen that aspect of our business.

Please feel confident that this is the best change we could think of for our company and the well being of our customers. A little peace of mind knowing where your package is and how long it will take to get to you goes a long way.
